The Theme Parks
July 31st, 2005Yesterday, we went to Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios (we have annual passes). We got there bright and early for the 9am opening, and the lines lengths were under 20 minutes until about 11 or so. We made the rounds from Hulk and Spiderman, to Dudly DoRights log jam and Blutos river ride. We were dressed for getting totally soaked, because we know how some of these rides are.
After Jurassic park and something to eat, we did the Fire and Ice coasters 4 times. by early afternoon, We were ready to get soaked again to cool off, but now, at 1pm, the wait was 65 minutes, instead of 10.
Then we spent about an hour at Jimmy Buffetts Margaritaville restaraunt and bar. A couple of beers and enjoying the antics of the bartender, and we were off to Universal Studios, to catch a few things there we missed the first time.
By 6 or 6:30, the afternoon thunderstorms were starting to finally rain, after holding back all afternoon. No Heavy thunder and lightning, like it usually does. So we hot-footed it Back to Margaritaville for dinner.
Got home about 8, totally wore out! I dont know HOW in the world someone can come to Orlando and do a "4 days, 4 parks" pass.
Universal Orlando
April 23rd, 2005Today was the day to use the passes we acquired from the bowling League (1 year, 2 park annual passes to Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios).
We went with some of the others in that league, and had a great time. I took my small, portable G meter, and was measuring on Fire and Ice.. a good 3 to 3.5 G in a lot of places.. and 4 G peaks 2 or 3 times.
After some coasters, we went over to the Universal Studios side (had never been there) and they have some interesting stuff too.. after 9 hours, we had not seen it all.. but had seen enough for today, after all, we can go anytime we wish now!
A great day had by all!
