Mental Discipline and mind training

Sub-consciousOur sub-conscious is like a computer running in the background. It performs all of our autonomous functions, like regulating heart beat and breathing, and control of all other body functions which we never have to think about (you don’t consciously have to digest food, or produce insulin)
Besides these things though, the sub-conscious is also the gateway to our long term memory, behavioral changes, and even bodily health. You have used it before, and maybe didn’t even realize it. At some time, while talking with friends, you perhaps were discussing old classmates, which you knew well at the time, and you thought real hard for a bit
now where was their name?, then as the conversation flowed to other things, from maybe a few minutes, to a few hours later, someone suddenly blurts out the name, and everyone else is like,
yeah, that’s it
What happened? When you thought hard for that name, you actually put in a request to search for that information, which the sub-conscious started working on. You have much more in your memory than you realize. Its like the book is intact, but the index and table of contents can only hold so much, and only current info is set up there. The Sub-conscious can set up for a full scan of memory, looking for these things. But, one of the tricks to making it work, is NOT to actively keep thinking to yourself
what was that name, or the sub-conscious sees this as repeated new requests, and cant search as effectively.
The concept of mind over matter is an old one, but there are some biological hints why these things work. There is a set of nerves that go from the spinal column directly into the lymphatic system (which control our bodies abilities to fight infection) - This is partially why you get sick when stressed, and why maintaining a positive attitude really is good for you. The better you can communicate with the sub-conscious, the more it can do for you.
EnergiesAll living things have energy, as seen in Kirillian photography. This is an aura of sorts, a field around each of us. Its generally close to the body (within the first 6 inches out from the physical body), but can be extended or altered (temporarily).
Psychic healing is one way to make positive use of this energy, by transferring some of this
aurafrom one person to the next, and its not usually not by physical contact, but by people being close enough to be
withineach others personal field (within 6 inches). When one can extend their own energies, then the 6 inch rule doesn’t necessarily apply, but it can be more difficult, as you have to mentally place yourself close to the intended recipient.
Meditation or RelaxationMany people have many different methods for this, but they seek to achieve the same results. It is a state of mind where the conscious mind is mostly subdued (but you are not asleep). It is difficult to maintain this, because often, in the beginning, you WILL fall asleep.
A lot of the methods have to do with thinking of single thoughts, and this itself is part of the mental discipline. Our conscious minds really do more than one thing at once, so much so, in fact, that the mind constantly masks out much information, so as not to overload us. The eyes alone send almost the equivalent of a billion bits per second to the brain.
When a person is concentrating really hard on some problem, you can tell which brain half they are using to solve the problem (logical or creative), simply by where they are looking (unless they close both eyes). If they look to one side or the other, they are letting the eyes send the info to that half which they are NOT using. Remember that things are crossed in the brain, so if a person is looking to the left, they are sending visual input to the right half, freeing up the left side a little (logical).
Getting to a very relaxed state, is the essence of singular thought, and as long as your mind is going a mile a minute, these relaxed states wont come easily or at all. This is why if you have a lot on your mind, you can’t fall asleep. Like a computer shutting down, you need to quiet all these other thoughts.
Psychic AbilitiesTelepathy, Healing, psycho-kinesis (ability to move things), pre-cognition, etc. are all part of the upper advanced stages of mental ability. Some people have more natural ability than others do to begin with, but like body building, we can all increase what we have.
Authors note:I believe that Quantum Physics will at some point have a partial explanation for psychic abilities, as it gets into the
fabric of spaceand the connectedness of everything. This is yet to be proved, but it’s a feeling I have, and it’s why I studied it. The things on this page, I have used and practiced, more or less, for the last 20 years.
